The main difference is that one uses an expanded shell, and four matching ungaffed coins, and the Deans set uses a re-edged shell, and 4 precision machined coins. Thus the Deans set is the highest quality set you can buy, but the coins are precision fitted to that set. And an expanded shell set uses normal coins, so you can take the shell to a coin shop and match regular coins to your set if you need more than the four that come with the set.
